God is not afraid of our questions—He often invites them.

Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet:
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves… Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”
I’ve always been intrigued by good questions. When I’m reading and come across a question that’s thoughtfully shaped, it makes me pause. I admire how the words are grouped, how the mind is stirred, how discomfort sometimes settles into my soul—especially when I don’t easily have an answer.
I have been a teacher all my life, though I’ve spent more time outside a traditional classroom than in it. My classrooms have been conversations, sermons, devotionals, coaching moments, clarifying discussions, training sessions, and seasons of leading. Questions are part and parcel of my life and skill—but also part of my calling.
Now, more recently, as a spiritual director, I have been trained to ask questions in an even deeper way. When I meet someone, I find myself asking all kinds of questions. Why?
Curiosity.
Wonder.
Anticipation.
Questions open doors. They open conversations. They open connections. They open information. But most importantly, questions open life itself—its mystery, its beauty, and its diversity.
This podcast is born out of that love… the love of living with questions that shape us, deepen us, and draw us closer to the heart of Christ.
